When many cards landed in a row, Obeya's server could freeze for up to a second: at every agent start and after every landing it asked git something and waited for the answer, during which no page got a reply. Now git answers in the background, and what was read is reused as long as the repository's branches have not moved. In a burst of six landings and three agent starts on a busy machine, the longest freeze drops from 1.1 s to under 10 ms.
