Demos record on the stronger graphics chip

Shared by Daniel Sadilek on October 29, 2026

Agents hand their work over with a demo video, recorded by a hidden Chrome on their machine. On a laptop with two graphics chips that Chrome used to paint on the weaker, built-in one. It now asks for the stronger chip: on a Windows laptop with an NVIDIA card, a test recording under load got 28 to 44 frames a second instead of 22 to 27. Machines with a single graphics chip, such as Macs with Apple silicon, record exactly as before.

Demo docs: where the stronger graphics chip applies

The design docs now say that the recording browser asks for the stronger graphics chip on Windows and macOS, and that Linux ignores the request. The two decisions behind it, asking for the stronger chip and keeping video encoding on the processor rather than NVIDIA's encoder, stand in the chapter's list of decisions.
