CI builds green after the flakiness fix

The GitHub build had failed at random: on Intel Macs the DMG installer step, and two timing tests on the server. The fix retries the DMG step and makes the two tests robust against slow CI machines. The first two complete builds after it passed on every platform, and the DMG step on Intel Macs succeeded on the first try, without needing the retry.
