Phillip Deng, oss-support@signpath.org, today 08:09 We need to verify the reputation and standing of each project … publicly available references such as articles, blog posts, forum discussions, mentions in open-source communities … At the moment, we were not able to find sufficient references for your project. Without these, we unfortunately won't be able to approve it. Before we make a final decision, could you please share with us any references … If you can provide such information, we'll be happy to re-evaluate.

Why it asks to keep the application open

SignPath wrote "before we make a final decision". The references we have are thin, and sending them alone invites that final decision now. The Hacker News launch will produce exactly the kind of references they ask for, so the draft offers them those links.
